What is a murphy bed chest, and how is it different from a traditional murphy bed?
A Best Chest™ is a fold-out bed stored inside a chest, so it looks like a piece of furniture when it isn't in use. Unlike a traditional murphy bed that folds down from a wall, it's freestanding and completely portable, so you can place it almost anywhere in your home.
How easy is it to open and put away?
Very easy. It converts from a chest to a bed, or back again, in just a few minutes. Stop by the Altamonte store and we'll show you.
Is it comfortable to sleep on?
Yes. Every Best Chest™ comes with a specially designed 6″ tri-fold memory foam mattress that stores inside the chest and makes a comfortable Queen sleeping surface. Lie down on one in our showroom and see for yourself.
What size is the bed, and what sheets fit?
The Saugatuck, Norway and Chatham all open to a Queen bed. The included mattress fits a standard 8″ Queen fitted sheet.
How much space do I need?
Closed, it measures 66″ wide, 24″ deep and 43″ high. Open, the bed extends 82″ from the wall, so plan on about 7 feet of clear floor in front of it. Measure the stairs, hallways and doorways on the way in, too.
Is there storage?
Yes. Behind the drawer fronts is a large open drawer, perfect for blankets, pillows and extra bedding, so everything your guests need stays with the bed.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Delivery is free anywhere in the metro Orlando area. Outside metro Orlando, delivery is priced by distance and very reasonable: all the way to The Villages is just $160.

What's the warranty?
Best Chest™ backs every bed with a 3-year limited warranty on the cabinet and 3 years on the memory foam mattress, for the original purchaser. Register it with Best Chest within 30 days of purchase.
Where can I see one?
All three styles are on the floor at Adjectives Altamonte, 1200 E. Altamonte Dr., Altamonte Springs. We're open every day from 10am to 7pm.
How do I care for it?
Dust the chest with a clean, damp cloth only, and skip harsh cleaners and polishes. The mattress cover comes off and machine-washes on delicate in cold water; hang it to dry.
